Qualifications:
1. The position of Assistant Principal shall require a Type 75 Administrative Certificate with a General Administrative Endorsement.
2. The position of Head Teacher shall require the completion of selected graduate school course work toward a Type 75 Administrative Certificate on a annual basis.
3. Prior successful elementary school teaching experience
4. Other such qualifications as deemed necessary.
Reports To: Building Principal
Performance Responsibilities:
1. The primary responsibility shall be the assumption of direct responsibility for attendance center operations during the absence of the principal.
2. Other duties may include, but are not limited to:
· Detention room or school office supervision during the lunch period (s).
· Service as a mentor to new staff members assigned to the building.
· Service as a liaison between the building principal and the building staff.
· Coordination of building level in-service programs.
· Leadership roles on curriculum review committees and the coordination of standardized, state and local student assessment programs.
· Student extracurricular program coordination.
· Provision of before and after school supervision as needed.
· Accepts other responsibilities as assigned by the building principal such as: student discipline, special programs and projects, staff schedule, local school improvement plans, (SIPs), as well North Central Association building leadership.
Personnel Policies:
1. Appointment will be on an annual basis, subject to the recommendation by the Building Principal with the approval of the Superintendent of Schools.
2. A substitute teacher shall be provided in the event of a principal’s planned absence exceeding one day, contingent upon the availability of substitutes.
3. Stipends for additional duties and service as Head Teacher or Assistant Principal will be added to the annual contractual salary.
4. Changes in the existing stipend amounts offered are subject to the recommendation of the Superintendent with Board of Education approval.
