Available Position for Elementary Instructional Coordinator in Indiana



Location: Educational Service Center
Position Title: Elementary Instructional Coordinator
Salary/Pay Scale: $71,000 to $83,000 – Based on Education Level

Requirements:
1. Minimum Masters Degree
2. Indiana Administrative Certification

Responsible to: Assistant Superintendent
Evaluated by: Assistant Superintendent

Evaluation Period:
* Formative evaluations throughout the school year as per MCS Performance and Assessment procedures.
* Annual summative evaluation prior to July 1.

Purpose of the Position: Provides leadership and management of the elementary instructional programs and related operational services of the district. Supervises and coordinates the activities of coordinators, resource teachers, facilitators and coaches in collaboration with building principals. Responsible for the development a unified curriculum and assessment program in the elementary schools. Make suggestions for ongoing school improvement. Responsible for developing, implementing, managing, supervising and evaluating the district’s staff development and training programs for professional educators.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

Education
· Minimum Masters Degree
· Current Indiana Administrative License
· Current Indiana Teacher License

Experience
· Minimum five years of verifiable teaching and/or administrative experience at the appropriate level.
· Successful building principal experience

Knowledge:
· Strong organization skills
· Excellent communication skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Ability to analyze statistical data, to develop appropriate reports of such data, and to develop strategies for school improvement and professional development opportunities based upon research findings.
· Extensive knowledge of elementary curriculum, school improvement, and grant writing.
· Extensive knowledge in staff training and professional development.

Essential Functions of the Position:
1. Coordinate, monitor and evaluate the district’s elementary programs.
2. Engage in continuous review and revision of curriculum and instructional practices to guarantee a seamless vertical alignment from elementary to secondary.
3. Participate in ongoing review of proposed programs to assess their effectiveness and alignment with current district goals and objectives.
4. Coordinate the systematic implementation of new programs into schools and monitor ongoing school and program improvement.
5. Apply research and data to improve the content, sequence, and outcomes of the teaching/learning process. Assists principals in the planning and implementation of effective programs of instruction and assessment.
6. Involve instructional staff in evaluating and selecting instructional materials to meet student learning needs; ensure the use of technology in the teaching-learning process.
7. Develop budgets and monitor expenditures from federal, state and grant resources to assure alignment with district goals and objectives.
8. Facilitate and guide the elementary assessment program.
9. Review and revise elementary grade reporting system.
10. Prepare budgets for the elementary programs and make personnel recommendations when vacancies occur in program area.
11. Respond to public inquires about curriculum and instruction.
12. Conduct an annual assessment of organizational needs for professional development at all levels of the organization.
13. Provide assistance and leadership in coordinating standards-based professional development.
14. Provide resources and support for site professional development activities.
15. Coordinate professional development library acquisition and dissemination of materials.
16. Lead and/or represent the district on various committees.
17. Perform other duties or services as required.
